Kaoud Carpets & Rugs was recommended to me by a fellow designer after I relocated to the area and was looking for a great place to bring my clients. They have a really big selection of high quality rugs in a lot of different styles, but also do custom, carpeting, and flooring. Their pricing is competitive with any of the large retailers. I was able to get a high end product at a price I could afford. Besides stocking an impressive selection of oriental carpets, they offer an extensive variety of broadloom carpets as well as hardwoods, laminates and other flooring - something I did not realize until I got there. I am happy to have discovered Kaoud in Wilton because now I know it is the only place I need to go for carpeting or flooring. Kaoud Carpets and Rugs did an absolutely phenomenal job cleaning and restoring a hand-knit wool rug that I had shipped from AZ. It was beyond dirty, full of dust. I am sure it hadn't been cleaned in years (if ever!). When they delivered it to my home, it looked like a brand-new rug. The colors were vivid, and it feels soft under foot. I am so thrilled they took such wonderful care of this rug that is precious to me because it was my parents'. I would not trust anyone else with my rugs. We had a large vintage kilim that had holes in it. We couldn't decide whether to spend the money to get it fixed or to buy a new rug. We ended up having our rug repaired and cleaned by Kaoud and we're thrilled with the results! They custom dyed the yarns for a perfect match to reweave the deteriorated areas (there were many). A leaking water pipe caused considerable damage to carpeting in our basement family room. Total replacement of carpeting and padding was needed. We shopped several carpeting stores then found desirable products at Kaoud Rugs in West Hartford. The sales person, Christina L********, came to our home , measured all open areas, closets and stairs. The price was acceptable. When installation occurred, I was impressed at the concern for detail and precision performed by the crew. I cannot find a flaw at the stairs, around lolly columns, at doorways or closet entries. The background red glowed, and the rose, pink, green, and cream colors in the center were bright and clean. And, the ends were repaired. Fred K*** was a pleasure to meet, generous with his time. Fred Kaoud and Kaoud Carpets in Wilton gave excellent service. We originally purchased our living room and dining room carpets from them many years ago. This was the first time we sent the rugs out to be cleaned. Fred kept us informed via e-mail. They picked up and delivered our carpets, and refringed the 10x14 ft carpet. They had to do multiple extractions and included new pads. We had an old stain from dropping a green bean casserole on one rug many years ago and they did an excellent job of removing the stain. From the very beginning, as soon as I walked in the door, my experience with Fred Kaoud and Kaoud Carpets & Rugs has been nothing but exceptional. I had to have a very fine rug that has been in my family for over 35 years cared for. Unfortunately, it had suffered significant damage from both water and moths. Thankfully only around the edges. At first, I wanted to just stop the bleeding, but what Fred and his very talented in house weaver suggested, although radical, brought my family heirloom back to its former glory. Pictures can not even come close to describing the end result. The outside border was removed, the edges rebound and fringe overcasted. The rug is now absolutely perfect with no compromises or imperfections. Although now a bit smaller in size, it is a remarkable piece that has been brought back to its former glory.
