Kaoud Carpets & Rugs was recommended to me by a fellow designer after I relocated to the area and was looking for a great place to bring my clients. I have been going to them and working with Fred for the past 6+ months and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They have a really big selection of high quality rugs in a lot of different styles, but also do custom, carpeting, and flooring. Fred really does have a one stop shop, but it is the customer service that really makes me a loyal customer. Kaoud Carpets and Rugs provided exceptional service regarding the cleaning and moth proofing of 16 of my heirloom Persian rugs--starting with the phone call I had with Fred Kaoud, Jr. Mr. Kaoud arrived at our home the very next day to personally inspect the carpets. He patiently explained the problems with each one, the process by which his firm cleans and moths proofs. He also provided a detailed account of each rug, its age and origin. Six weeks later the rugs returned home----now silky, exquisitely clean, the colors vibrant. They have never looked this good. His professional team brought the rugs in and expertly placed them around the house, explaining why some rugs should be placed in the same room with another rug, due to the common origin and related designs. We had a large vintage kilim that had holes in it. We couldn't decide whether to spend the money to get it fixed or to buy a new rug. We ended up having our rug repaired and cleaned by Kaoud and we're thrilled with the results! They custom dyed the yarns for a perfect match to reweave the deteriorated areas (there were many). From the very beginning, as soon as I walked in the door, my experience with Fred Kaoud and Kaoud Carpets & Rugs has been nothing but exceptional. I had to have a very fine rug that has been in my family for over 35 years cared for. Unfortunately, it had suffered significant damage from both water and moths. Thankfully only around the edges. At first, I wanted to just stop the bleeding, but what Fred and his very talented in house weaver suggested, although radical, brought my family heirloom back to its former glory. Pictures can not even come close to describing the end result. The outside border was removed, the edges rebound and fringe overcasted. The rug is now absolutely perfect with no compromises or imperfections. Although now a bit smaller in size, it is a remarkable piece that has been brought back to its former glory. We needed solutions for our home after my wife fell on our dangerously beautiful hardwood floors resulting in a serious broken leg. Fred helped us select a number of beautiful area rugs and some custom designed solutions for stairs and walkways that now provide safe but beautiful floors that accent our hardwood. He brought several choices out to our home so we could see what they looked like in our home and was patient as we tried a couple times before settling on what worked best for us. The installation was professional as they consulted with us and advised us on several decisions that needed to be made to ensure a quality result that suited the limitations of some of the spaces.
This is the second time we have dealt with Kaoud in 3 years. The previous carpets we bought still look brand new ( compared to one very expensive dining room carpet we bought from another design store that is not holding up well)

A leaking water pipe caused considerable damage to carpeting in our basement family room. Total replacement of carpeting and padding was needed. We shopped several carpeting stores then found desirable products at Kaoud Rugs in West Hartford. The sales person, Christina L********, came to our home , measured all open areas, closets and stairs. The price was acceptable. When installation occurred, I was impressed at the concern for detail and precision performed by the crew. I cannot find a flaw at the stairs, around lolly columns, at doorways or closet entries.
