We lived in Connecticut and appreciated the longevity of this local family business and the great customer service! Around since 1954, they are doing things right for the customer!
We built our retirement home in North Carolina, I made sure that I purchased my rugs from Kaoud Carpets & Rugs! Fred Kaoud Jr has an amazing eye for color selections and he can recommendation rugs based on your style. He has been spot on with our selections. Whether you are looking for a runner, carpet for stairs, or showcase pieces for your living areas their selections are amazing! We even got our outdoor rugs for our screened porch. Every year when we travel back up to CT, we make a point of stopping by the Wilton store to check out the inventory and to catch up with the Kaouds! Kaoud Carpets and Rugs did an absolutely phenomenal job cleaning and restoring a hand-knit wool rug that I had shipped from *** It was beyond dirty, full of dust. I am sure it hadn't been cleaned in years (if ever!). When they delivered it to my home, it looked like a brand-new rug. The colors were vivid, and it feels soft under foot. I am so thrilled they took such wonderful care of this rug that is precious to me because it was my parents'. I would not trust anyone else with my rugs. Whether you have modest rugs or expensive heirlooms, Kaoud Carpets will handle them with care and return them to you spotlessly clean. This is a local family business with the highest standards of customer service. Wonderful people to work with, very professional. It's rare now-a-days to get the quality of service and product that you receive from the Kaouds. As soon as you walk into the store, you receive quality service with a smile and most importantly, patience. They are very calm and quite professional. No pressure to buy either.
I just purchased wall-to-wall carpet for our family room. I assumed that they only sold orientals, but I was wrong. My friend had told me to go see what they had. She was also looking for broadloam for a staging job she was doing in Weston and was quite happy with what she found. I had purchased an oriental rug from them years ago and was quite happy then. So I decided to go there to see their selection. I was pleasantly surprised with their vast selection of sisals and jutes! I wanted a modern contemporary look and they had it all. Joanne Kaoud even offered to come to my home with a variety of samples. She came with an arm full of choices, with a big smile on her face, so I could see them in the room. We even had coffee together. Those little things mean a lot! I'm from Minneapolis and out East you don't always get the quality service that I received from the Kaouds. The carpet looks fabulous! Better that I ever expected! Plus with the scrap, Fred Kaoud suggested that they bind the edges and now I have an extra rug in the parlor!

The tired and dusty little hall rug I left off at Kaoud's was a beauty when unrolled there a short time later. The background red glowed, and the rose, pink, green, and cream colors in the center were bright and clean. And, the ends were repaired. Fred K*** was a pleasure to meet, generous with his time. He explained the rug's background, how it would be cleaned and repaired. And suggested the best option for a rug pad; a pleasure to my bare feet! Kaud's would be my recommendation to evaluate a carpet, assess problem areas, and restore/clean expertly. - 2/20/2019

Our family just used Kaoud Carpets to install a stair runner and for an area rug. After visiting a few different carpet stores, we chose to go with Kaoud and could not be happier with our decision. I ordered several rugs from Kaoud Carpets & Rugs, and my experience was superb! Fred Kaoud, Jr. was very attentive to my specific needs, first in choosing and ordering beautiful natural rugs for my luxury rental property. Per my rental contract, I had to furnish the rugs by August 1st. However, the rugs which I ordered could only be delivered by the end of August. To resolve this problem, Fred Jr. actually created temporary loaner rugs according to the sizes of my ordered rugs, and delivered these loaner rugs to my property by August 1st, free of charge! When the rugs I ordered came in, he replaced the loaner rugs by these rugs, again free of charge! It is difficult to find such high level of personalized service anywhere! Also, Fred Jr. is a wonderful, warm and positive person, and is a pleasure to deal with! I highly recommend Fred Kaoud Carpets & Rugs! - 10/10/2020 

Kaoud (and Fred specifically) was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and excellent customer service, not to mention they did a great job cleaning our rug. I felt Fred went above and beyond, even sending us photo updates throughout the cleaning process. Our rug, which was very overdue for a cleaning, is noticeably more vibrant and softer. We felt very safe having our rug cleaned during the COVID crisis, Kaoud took extra precautions and still turned our rug around very quickly. Prices were in line with industry standard. Kaoud will be our go-to shop for oriental rug cleaning in the future and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. - 6/02/2020 

A leaking water pipe caused considerable damage to carpeting in our basement family room. Total replacement of carpeting and padding was needed. We shopped several carpeting stores then found desirable products at Kaoud Rugs in West Hartford. The sales person, Christina L********, came to our home , measured all open areas, closets and stairs. The price was acceptable. When installation occurred, I was impressed at the concern for detail and precision performed by the crew. I cannot find a flaw at the stairs, around lolly columns, at doorways or closet entries. They did a very good installation. Maurice Kaoud helped finalize communication with our insurance. We are pleased with all interactions with Kaoud Rugs of West Hartford. - 12/10/2021
